X Factor’s Shayne Ward to star in Rock of Ages

Shayne Ward has been confirmed to cast in a West End production of Rock of Ages. He is a pop singer who rose to fame as the winner of second series of The X Factor. He has sold over 3 million records worldwide and has had number one albums and singles in 9 countries.

Shayne Ward said in a press statement: “I cannot wait to take to the stage for Rock of Ages. It’s an absolute thrill to have been chosen for this part and can’t wait to show a new side to my voice.”

In 1987 on the Sunset Strip, a small town girl met a big city rocker and in LA’s most famous rock club, they fell in love to the greatest songs of the 80s. Justin Lee Collins to star in London Rock of Ages at Shaftesbury Theatre

TV presenter Justin Lee Collins is to take a starring role in a West End version of hit Broadway musical show Rock of Ages. Justin Lee Collins, often known as JLC, is a British comedian, television, radio presenter and occasional singer from Bristol. He worked as a double-glazing demonstrator before making a brief foray into stand-up comedy in which he won the New Comedy Competition at the 1997 Glastonbury Festival and reached the finals of the BBC New Comedy Awards at the Edinburgh Festival. He gave up doing stand-up in 2002 to concentrate fully on TV and radio presenting.

Collins has performed in professional Musical Theatre in London’s famous West End. For a TV programme on Sky One Collins learned the skills necessary to perform on the musical stage, gaining a part in the hit show Chicago. Playing alongside Aoife Mulholland (as his wife Roxie Hart) Collins rehearsed for the role of Amos Hart at the Cambridge Theatre.

Collins said of his role, “I’m over the moon to be playing the sexiest part in the best show on the West End stage. I’ve already gone through a dozen pairs of tights.”.
