Shakespeare in Love coming to London stage this summer!

Plagued by debt, tormented by writer’s block and in desperate need of a new hit, promising new playwright Will Shakespeare finds his muse in the form of passionate young noblewoman, Viola De Lesseps. Their forbidden love soon draws everyone, including Queen Elizabeth herself, into the drama and inspires Will to write the greatest love story of all time, Romeo and Juliet.

Shakespeare in Love will bring together a prestigious, multi-award winning creative team. Based on the screenplay by Marc Norman and Tom Stoppard, adapted for the stage by Lee Hall (Billy Elliot, The Pitman Painters), the production is directed by Declan Donnellan and designed by Nick Ormerod. Donnellan and Ormerod are the driving force behind the world-renowned theatre company, Cheek by Jowl, who have built an international reputation for innovative productions of Elizabethan, Jacobean, Restoration and European classics. Shakespeare in Love will be co-produced by Disney Theatrical Productions and Sonia Friedman Productions.

Featuring a large-scale company of talented actors and musicians, this romantic comedy promises to transport audiences back to Shakespeare’s London, teeming with characters, music and dance. A unique theatre event that revels in the sheer joy of love itself. Oh, and there’s a dog!

Calendar Girls – tickets now on sale for the stage version of the smash hit film

At first glance it should look like your classic WI calendar. Jams, cakes, sewing and all that. Except for one tiny thing…the ladies aren’t naked, they’re nude.

A group of extraordinary women, members of a very ordinary Yorkshire WI, persuade one another to pose for a charity calendar with a difference! Overcoming their initial reserve, the friends drop their dressing gowns, modesty spared only by artfully placed cakes, knitting and flower arrangements. Puzzling their husbands, mortifying their children, and riding the wrath of the outraged WI, they spark a global phenomenon. As interest snowballs, the CALENDAR GIRLS find themselves revealing more than they’d ever planned.

A very British story with a very British heart, CALENDAR GIRLS is quirky, poignant and hilarious. Adapted by Tim Firth from his smash hit film of the same name, it is based on an uplifting and very inspiring true story.

AvenueQ Booking Extended!

Hilarious puppet show staged in the Noel Coward Theatre that was named “Sesame Street for grown-ups” has been a great success and therefore management of the theatre has decided to prolong its run.

Avenue Q is not the most upmarket of New York streets, and is about as far away from Park Avenue as you can get, but it is home to some lively and off the wall characters performed by an unholy comedic alliance of humans and puppets!

Princeton, a bright-eyed college graduate, has just moved to this neighbourhood as he desperately tries to follow his dreams and discover his ever-elusive purpose in life.

A tiny bank balance, the distraction of a busty blonde and a variety of weird and wonderful friends and neighbours lead Princeton on a hilarious story of self-discovery. Life may suck on Avenue Q but being jobless, homeless, politically incorrect, having sex (whether hetero, homo or porno… and that’s just the puppets) are just some of the topics featured in the terrific songs of this show.

AvenueQ is currently booking until 25th of April 2009 Book Tickets for Avenue Q
