Ghost the Musical Covers Gotye – “Somebody That I Used To Know”

To celebrate the amazing success of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know”, Ghost the Musical leads Siobhan Dillon and Mark Evans teamed up to for this amazing cover.

The pair recorded their own version of Australian musician Gotye’s massively popular hit, which held the UK’s number one spot for four weeks earlier this year.

Evans and Dillon joined the cast of Ghost The Musical back in January, replacing original leads Richard Fleeshman and Cassie Levy as the unfortunate lovers at the centre of the stage adaptation of the much-loved movie.

GHOST The Musical, Live & Unchained Facebook Sessions on 26 Nov 2010

The musical legend Dave Stewart talks about his involvement in Ghost the Musical and his excitement in sharing the Abbey Road Recording with the Facebook fans in ‘The Facebook Sessions: Live & Unchained’…

In the first of its kind for a West End theatre production, Facebook users will have exclusive access to screenings of a very special event recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios.

The leading actors from GHOST – Richard Fleeshman, Caissie Levy, Sharon D Clarke and Andrew Langtree – together with the show’s composers, Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard and their band, perform songs from GHOST The Musical exclusively for a Facebook audience.

Viewers will be able to experience the excitement at Abbey Road when the songs were heard for the first time, alongside footage from an event given the following day at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester.

The screenings will take place on Friday 26 November at 1pm, 7pm and 9pm through a special page on the Ghost The Musical Facebook Page.

Laura Michelle Kelly to Star in Ghost the Musical

There’s a rumor going around that Laura Michelle Kelly to star in GHOST THE MUSICAL who originated the role of Mary in “Mary Poppins” and also starred in “Lord of the Rings”.

Everyone remembers the Academy Award-winning film, Ghost, which starred Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore.  The film has all of the makings of a true love story… filled with love, passion determination, tragedy, and more.  Sam (Patrick Swayze) and Molly (Demi Moore) are mugged walking home one evening when Sam is murdered during the attack.  Sam’s ghost helps Molly overcome the dangers she faces with the help of ‘Medium’ Oda Mae Brown (Whoopi Goldberg).

It is more likely to open until late 2010 or early 2011.

GHOST the Musical – Where will GHOST Premiere?

It has been recently rumoured that Ghost, the musical adaptation of the 1990 film, will premiere at the Palace Theatre in Manchester and not London’s West End as originally thought.  It is scheduled to open in 2010 although no details have been confirmed.

Everyone remembers the Academy Award-winning film, Ghost, which starred Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore.  The film has all of the makings of a true love story… filled with love, passion determination, tragedy, and more.  Sam (Patrick Swayze) and Molly (Demi Moore) are mugged walking home one evening when Sam is murdered during the attack.  Sam’s ghost helps Molly overcome the dangers she faces with the help of ‘Medium’ Oda Mae Brown (Whoopi Goldberg).

Matthew Warchus will direct the musical version of Ghost.  Music and lyrics are to be written by Grammy Award winners Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard.  Oscar winner Bruce Joel Rubin will adapt the original screenplay for the stage and will also write lyrics.  The cast which has not been confirmed is rumoured to include Laura Michelle Kelly to play the role of Molly.
