9 of us travelled from Newcastle at quite an expense to see Calandar Girls
Oct 24th, evening performance, good seats in the stalls. To say we were disappointed in the show would be an understatement...plot very thin, if we hadn't seen cinema production would have been lost off. Cast just seemed to stand there and speak their lines...or in Anita Dobsons case shout them. We'd gone to a great deal of trouble dressing in black T shirts with stitched on Sunflowers and Miss July or whatever on the backs.
We really looked forward to a fun evening but were totally deflated. We did however attract attention outside, as Jill Baker came out she smiled and said 'Well done girls' and total strangers were taking our photos. Our first visit to a London theatre and may very well be our last!!!
